Established in 2008, Mabel’s Bakery now has four locations across Toronto. We’re known for our homestyle baked goods, artisan breads and made from scratch prepared foods. We source the best ingredients for all of our productions, prioritizing local producers and organic ingredients whenever possible.

Our Story

Mabel’s Bakery opened in Toronto’s Roncesvalles Village in 2008, when founders Lorraine Hawley and her husband Bob Warburton noticed the need for a shop that offered high-quality and great tasting food. Mabel's has grown to four retail locations, serving our local communities food that comforts, nourishes and celebrates.

The brownie is big enough for two (and indeed, I can’t finish it in one sitting), with a hard chocolate coat over a creamy ganache layer and moist brownie cake. It’s incredibly rich, quite sweet, and leaves me feeling like I just finished a meal.

It is hard to go wrong with their selection of loaves and baguettes, but start with the spelt loaf. It’s particularly dense and wonderfully chewy, with a rich, nutty flavour that goes great with olive oil and balsamic, or topped with earthy sautéed mushrooms
